Re: Chk services after host is up for x min (or other soluti
You could set up a service check to check if the nscp service is running, and assign all your other checks as service dependencies on that one check. http://nagios.sourceforge.net/docs/nagioscore/4/en/objectdefinitions.html#servicedependency Yes, I took a look at those, but if I understood this wel...

Chk services after host is up for x min (or other solution)
Hello, If a host goes to a “down” state and then gets back online again, so the host has the state “up” which actually allows Nagios to do some service checks and send notifications. The problem is that those service checks based on NSClient++ will produce the error “Return code of 255 is out of bou...

Re: 2 questions about NSClient++ & Nagios (Eventlogs)
1) I don't believe this logic is contained within nsclient. From my understanding it ONLY looks for the number of warning, error or critical events and relays that back to nagios. It does not specifically look at informational or send back particular events. You might want to look at event to trap:...

Re: 2 questions about NSClient++ & Nagios (Eventlogs)
I'm still a bit confused. You aren't asking any actual questions here. Are you wanting us to implement some feature? Are you experiencing a bug? Are you having trouble setting up a check properly? Thanks for your time! :) I am having trouble setting up a check properly. ;) The problem is that I kno...

Re: 2 questions about NSClient++ & Nagios (Eventlogs)
Could you provide more details as to what you mean. I'm not sure I see what issues you are having as of now. Thank you. ;) (Question 1 has nothing to do with question 2 apart from that both have to do with eventlogs.) Q.1: So let’s say there is an event with the ID: 3317 which has the level “Error”...

2 questions about NSClient++ & Nagios (Eventlogs)
I have 2 question about 2 different eventlogs: 1. If there is an error a log (ID: 3317) will be created with the level “Error”. If the error is fixed a log (ID: 3317) will be created with the level “Information”. If the last one has the level “Information” it should be “ok” in nagios, otherwise “cri...

Re: Critical if no eventlog has been generated (check_nrpe)
You may be in the correct sub forum, but without seeing the script we can't really help you that much, can you provide more information? Any chance that you could link us to the script and also post the command/check configuration? I spoke with the other guys and there is no chance that I’m allowed...

Re: Critical if no eventlog has been generated (check_nrpe)
Thanks for the link, but I have already looked at that page but till now nothing found on sth. like this “problem”. The events that are generated have to do with a script that checks some stuff on the mail server. At the current time it is not possible to do it another way. What is known are the Eve...

Critical if no eventlog has been generated (check_nrpe)
Hello, I have a question about a nagios plugin (check_nrpe & nsclient++): There is a script that generates an eventlog every x minutes. If it is not generated, than Nagios should change the status to critical. Till now I have no idea to do this with those “MinCritical” and “MaxCritical” values. ...
