Dashlets

Post by BanditBBS »

1.) Is there a perfdata dashlet anyone is hold out on me? I have a few checks that just return numbers and I really want to add them to the dashboard just showing label=number.

2.) What about a dashlet similar to Box's that shows service status but just a red, yellow or green circle instead of all the text.

If I can somehow get these two items, I'll love whoever points me in the direction and will forever be in your debt!

EDIT1: For #1 I was going to copy/edit the gauges dashlet, but it doesn't even work right if you have too many hosts/services to list. I think it timesout instead of populating like Box's. I am going to try though and just display the perfdata in a table....wish me luck

EDIT2: For #2 I can just use BBMAP, so that solves that. SOMEONE HELP WITH #1! :)

Just to show you all what I am going for. This is now using my *fixes to the metrics and also Troy's status dashlet. If I can find/write one to let me pick a service and display its perfdata in a table, I am golden!

Look here, can you imagine how much cleaner it'd look if I could just display perfdata in a table!

This could be an addition to my status info dashlet, I do plan on updating it soon as there is some broken Javascript / jQuery that is causing it to look nasty.

My performance data tool will show data in a table, so a lot of the leg work in extracting this data and constructing the table has been done. You would still need to create a dashlet I think.

Box doesn't drink, but I'll take the beer on his behalf.

LOL.

I've made a note on my "to do list" which is currently getting pretty tall considering all the ideas I've had since the conference. It will be a couple of months before I can get to this to be honest, but I don't see it being that hard to do.
