Greetings XI forum members!
I am having an issue with a new instance of XI that was built with NagiosQL version 3.2. When attempting to access menu options within CCM such as ‘Nagios Core Main Config’ and ‘Nagios Core CGI Config’ I receive the following error:
‘ERROR: Unable to read / write nagios.cfg file. Check permissions!’
Does Nagios XI 2014 R1.5 support NagiosQL 3.2 so that it and CCM work simultaneously as frontends?
If it does…
• How would I go about resolving this error so that both frontends are operational?
• Does using NagiosQL 3.2 affect my support contract in any way?
If it does not…
• What is the latest recommended version of NagiosQL I should be running on my XI instance instead?
• What are the main benefits to using NagiosQL 3.2 over previous versions that support CCM functionality as well?
Thank you so much in advance for addressing my inquiries. I’ve included the system’s profile information below.
Cheers,
Tom

Re: NagiosQL & CCM
Did you install NagiosQL BEFORE you installed Nagios XI?tom.stobnicki wrote:I am having an issue with a new instance of XI that was built with NagiosQL version 3.2.
I am looking at Nagios XI 2014R1.5 and it appears to be running NagiosQL 3.0.3.
I do not believe that you can run a newer version of NagiosQL than what is shipped with XI.
I'll need one of the Nagios team to confirm this.

Re: NagiosQL & CCM
NagiosQL was installed after XI, and besides CCM, XI seems to be functioning properly.
Re: NagiosQL & CCM
Updating QL on a Nagios XI box will break the ccm. Please revert, load a backup, or re-run ./upgrade from the install folder at /tmp/nagiosxi.
