Network Switch / Router 2.01 on XI 2014 R 1.0

Post by costanza2k1 »

Do you guys know if the network switch wizard is having problems on 2014? I was able to get to my network devices before and now I can't seem to get the wizard to perform a scan on ports. Nothing has changed on the network. We have moved from a virtual sever running 2.8 2012 to a physical server running 2014 r 1.0. I shut off 'iptables' on the server to make sure that's not a problem. Ran this:

Code: Select all

[root@fe1 ~]# /usr/bin/cfgmaker --show-op-down --noreversedns --zero-speed '100000000' '[email protected]:::::1'
--base: Get Device Info on [email protected]:::::1
--base: Vendor Id: cisco
--base: Populating confcache
It's beeen stuck after Poluating confcache for 30 minutes now. Any suggestions on where to look and what to do?

The wizard should build the mrtg configs, no need to run cfgmaker.
What type of behavior is exhibited when you try to run the wizard?

it's not scanning the switch at all giving me this, I'm already monitoring it from the 2012 pre upgrade...just not able to add any more network devices at the moment..

No luck here as well. I tried the v2.02 from another thread and still no joy. :-(

Is there an easy way to add a new interface by making a copy of a config file or something that I can use in the meantime? My thought is to do something along the lines of the following:

Find a text file in a configuration directory for an existing service for an interface (bandwidth for example)
Make a copy and change the name to the new service
Edit the file and update the SNMP Interface designation for the new interface
Run some update command or restart of Nagios to build the rrd files and start monitoring

Am I on the right track? Can you tell me what file (or files) I should be looking for and where to edit said files?

Thanks!

I'd recommend keeping your eyes on:

As that is where "Jomann" is going to be keeping an eye out, I'm going to link this thread to that one as well so he can grab more info.
