00Caught SIGSEGV, shutting down...

Post by Mitchell »

Hello,

After upgrading to Nagios XI 2012R2.5, we have Nagios crashing at midnight with following error..

2013-12-17 00:00:00Caught SIGSEGV, shutting down...
2013-12-17 00:00:00HOST DOWNTIME ALERT: xxxxxxxxxxx;STARTED;No comment

I searched for this errors and found few articles which suggests that this was a bug which is already fixed. Please suggest what could be wrong here...

Thanks

Can you try upgrading to 2.7? As far as I know we don't even have 2.5 posted for download anymore.

I have to go through cycle of updates from our DEV to a set of PRODs to get it on 2.7. Takes about 3-4 weeks.

I already have 2.5 on all other servers but this is the only server crashing.

Do you have any hosts/services scheduled for downtime at midnight? (Home->Recurring Downtime and Home->Scheduled Downtime)
Have you changed anything lately on the server (besides the upgrade) - notification options, timeperiods, etc.?

We do not have any Schedule/Recurring downtime which starts at midnight. We add/delete and modify monitors everyday but not schedules/notifications as much.
No major change as such since upgrade..

Do you have livestatus installed? I remember there being a bug in reference to livestatus and nagios shutting down at 00:00

My suggestion would be to upgrade to the newest livestatus. Also, what are the full broker lines you are using:

Code: Select all

grep broker /usr/local/nagios/etc/nagios.cfg
