Plugin Request - Azure Status Monitor

Post by JamesOriginal »

Hi,

Could someone please develop a plugin that checks http://azure.microsoft.com/en-gb/status for any active errors. I can't seem to find a plugin anywhere that does this.

Many thanks!

This section of the forum is more to discuss current plugins as opposed to requesting new plugins. While we can certainly build a plugin for you, that would fall under custom development and is something you would have to talk to Sales about.

That being said, there is an RSS feed that might be easier to parse than the whole HTML-based page:

http://azure.microsoft.com/en-gb/status/feed/

RSS isn't too hard to decipher, being XML-based. If someone on your team has any scripting or programming experience, a plugin shouldn't take too long to write. We have developer guidelines here:

https://nagios-plugins.org/doc/guidelines.html

You might even be able to use an existing rss-checking plugin like this one:

However since currently no errors are displayed, it is hard to know what an error will look like. You could get away with just checking to see if there is any content at all, which would indicate an error.
