Host Creation Tool Wizard now available

Hello fellow Nagios XI users. I have created a Host Creation Tool Wizard that is available for download from the Nagios Exchange.

This tool lets you create hosts in bulk.

Ideal for adding hosts of a similar type quickly.

It does NOT add services.

You need a list of hosts, their addresses and optionally a description in a spreadsheet / CSV format.

The format is address,host name,description
If you did not want a description then the format is address,host name

Here are some examples:

VMware ESX Servers
esx1.yourdomain.local,ESX1,ESX1 - Production
esx2.yourdomain.local,ESX2,ESX2 - Production
esx3.yourdomain.local,ESX3,ESX3 - Production
esx4.yourdomain.local,ESX4,ESX4 - Testing
esx5.yourdomain.local,ESX5,ESX5 - Testing

Windows Servers
192.168.111.50,SERVER01,Active Directory

This very cool indeed. Would it be possible to allow it to add the hosts to a desired hostgroup?

Thanks for the feedback

When using the wizard, on the Step 6 screen you should be able to select the host group that you want all these hosts to become a member of.

After the configuration is applied you will find that inside the properties of each host the host will now be a member of the host group you selected.

Note: If you don't get step 6 of the wizard then you need to upgrade to 2009R1.3 or later as this was added in this release

I have Nagios xi 2011 and when I use this wizard I have a blank pages at the end of the wizard and no nodes are added. Du you already have this problem? solution?

I try manually with this format: ip adress,nam and I have same problem.
