I've built a fresh VM from scratch, installed NDOutils from source (http://sourceforge.net/p/nagios/ndoutil ... -2-0/tree/)

...and am still getting nothing out.

selinux is disabled. config files seem fine. ndo is running, but the database isn't filling up, just as before.

there's no ndo2db.debug file being created and no mention of ndo in the nagios.log file.


I've come across multiple install methods for NDO. Is there one clear guide for installation with Nagios 4.x on a RHEL based (RHEL/OEL/CentOS) installation which I can attempt this from again, to ensure there's not something somewhere else being missed?

It's somewhat frustrating as everything else is working, but this is a crucial piece of the puzzle.

This is a base install of CentOS 6.5 from CentOS-6.5-x86_64-minimal.iso downloaded from this link.

I am installing a list of dependencies I've been building out for the Nagios/Apache/MySQL and a few other requirements for this box. Here's everything installed currently on the production Nagios installation (I have not attempted to install NDO on this box yet, and it's running Nagios 4.0.5). I have confirmed, again, that SELinux is disabled. This production box has exactly the same setup as the virtual machines I've built to attempt NDO installation.

I want to approach this again.

CentOS, RHEL, or OEL 6.3 or above, with the packages (those versions or newer) in my previous post above installed as a baseline. I can install and get Nagios working quickly and easily this way, but have had absolutely no luck whatever in making NDOutils 2.x play with Nagios 4.x at all.

I have followed multiple processes including a shell script that was on this very site (which helpfully I now cannot find) and am at a loss to understand how it can't seem to start.

Is there a step by step to getting these two versions of this software up and running without wanting to throw it all out a window?
