Importing Hosts

Post by Darth_Panda »

I have a spread sheet of over a thousand hosts that I would like to start monitoring for basic connectivity. Is there a way to import a CSV and create Nagios hosts from it?

In an effort to prevent you from doing work more than once I'll plug the commercial product. If you ever intend on doing anything besides ping monitoring on those boxes some of our tools included in NagiosXI would be useful, namely the auto-discovery wizard, bulk host cloning and import wizard and bulk modification tool. You might think about giving it a spin - free for 60 days.

Thank you very much for the link. Luckily I found all my old host.cfg files and went down that path instead. Thanks :)

I'll be closing this thread now, but feel free to open another if you need anything in the future!
