Problem VMware Virtual Machine 2011R1.3

When running the R1.3 version of the virtual machine I can ping the Nagios VM, but can't connect to the webserver.

In version R1.1 dhcp was working correctly and the webserver can be connected directly after booting the VM.

In R1.3 there are some leftover settings in /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 and ifcfg.bak which prevent acquiring an IP address. Even after fixing this problem the webserver can't be contacted.

Found the problem. The http service logfiles could not be created, because the simlink was pointing to a directory that did not exist.

/var/log/httpd is missing. Can I expect the VM to work properly after creating the directory, or are there other ommissions?
