Need help on below points !

Hello All,

Happy Saturday, I am new to Nagios core, looking to clear confusion on below points.

1) Nagios nrpe daemon has to be installed on remote server to be monitored ?

2) Nagios plugins should be installed on server running Nagios core or the remote server ?

3) Nagios check_nrpe plugin has be installed on server running Nagios core ?

Hi @pnikhade, thanks for reaching out.

This diagram may help you visualize what is going on.

1. NRPE needs to be installed on the remote server (same for NCPA).
2. Plugins you want NRPE to run, are installed on the remote server, along with NRPE.
3. Nagios Core runs the check_nrpe plugin.
