check_san
Our environment consists of four (4) HP P2000 storage SANs with the latest firmware TS251_P0006. We have a Nagios check_san running on all these controllers and it is causing the controllers to stop responding, timing out, and refusing connections after we enable the check. HP is refusing to assist as they are saying Nagios is a non-supported 3rd party monitoring utility. If I turn the check off, it's fine, but the metrics that the check_san provides are important. Has anyone had this issue before?
Re: check_san
Can you link to the check_san plugin you are using? That doesn't appear to be one of our standard plugins.

Re: check_san
Can you check the san through snmp? I would hope that snmp is supported . . . .

Re: check_san
Yes the HP P2000 supports SNMP
Re: check_san
You may want to take a look at the vendor docs for the oid and upload the necessary mibs for the device to your core system. Then run an snmpwalk to identify those oids you wish to monitor. Then configure some check_snmp definitions to check those oids.

Yes we are going to look at setting up an SNMP server and setting up SNMP traps

Sounds great! Let us know if you have further questions when that gets going.
