Thanks for reaching out @veeravamsi,

They are different products so I do not believe the same license key will work with both products. I would reach out to sales@nagios.com for more specific answers to your questions.

Hey @veeravamsi,

I noticed the other part of your question went unaddressed, which is what is the difference between Nagios XI and Nagios Log Server as products. This might also be helpful to a broader audience.

Nagios XI focuses on comprehensive IT infrastructure monitoring. You can monitor network services (HTTP, SMTP, etc), track host resources (CPU load, disk usage, system logs), alerts on system health, customizable dashboards, capacity planning, and has built-in configuration wizards. Nagios Log Server, as the name suggests, is concerned with log management. It's built on ELK (elastic search, logstash, kibana), and so it can aggregate log data from multiple sources into a centralized location, has real-time log analysis and visualizations, custom dashboards, querying (regex/lucene), user management, and alerts based on log patterns.

This isn't an exhaustive list, and they do require separate licenses.

Let me know if you found that helpful!
