| Title: | Why was my message to a mailing list rejected? |
| FAQ ID: | F0217 |

| Description: |
User is wondering why they received a message indicating that the email they sent to one of the mailing lists was rejected.
|
|
| Solution: |
Due to the high volume of spam and other junk that has started to plague the lists, users must now be members of a list to be able to send messages to it. Messages from non-subscribers are automatically rejected on an hourly basis. This is unfortunate, but it is a necessary evil.
If you wish to send messages to a particular list, make sure you subscribe to that list before you send the message. You must be subscribed using the same address that you will be sending mail from. More information on subscribing to the mailing lists can be found at http://www.nagios.org/mailinglist.php.
