| Description: | I have nagios master host as a FC3 Linux box and wanted to monitor a few linux servers and few solaris servers using NRPE. For Linux it was a cake walk but for Solaris it was not working with NRPE 1.3 or 1.9 package that I installed from the net.
I tried a lot of things but it did not work. |
|
| Solution: | What worked was I got the src for NRPE 2.0 and compiled it with SSL support. Installed this and it worked with no changes.
I really spent a lot of time trying to debug this and used -n or without but it was not giving any results.
There was a vague error message in the client /var/adm/messages as:
Could not read request from client, bailing out...
I really hope this helps some Solaris users out there.
Thanks
