Re: Performance issue after kernel upgrade

Hi, from what i know Linux is implementing KPTI (Kernel Page Table Isolation) to mitigate the Meltdown variant of the exploit. This will in general don't cause significant performance degradation if the processes on the system mostly stay in userspace. Due to how Nagios operates with a lot of proces...

Re: CPU Load spike every 7 hours

The spikes are also gone in our environment. I noticed since the update that the check intervals are not precise anymore: For example: 1 minute interval 1min.png Sometimes they have a variance and after the check they get scheduled exactly again: 5min.png Is this per design or is something wrong goi...

Re: CPU Load Spike daily

Well, an IP confliction could do that, seen DNS controllers reboot cause hugh spikes too because it clogs the queue execution and hope that this resolved your issue. However I posted my finding under your thread for general public reading in the customer forum and potentially help you and others. I...

Re: CPU Load spike every 7 hours

Well we have Fujitsu blades, other machines on same esx server would have same symptoms. And why isn't this behaviour seen before the upgrade....? Odd. It could be changes in the Core 4 scheduler functions. Our core devs are working on it, but as the gap of time between issues is so large, it will ...

Re: CPU Load spike every 7 hours

SDK, what kind of hardware do you have dedicated to this VM? CPU's, core's/cpu, memory, what type of disks/drives. Also, is this 32-bit or 64? And RHEL or CENTOS? What version of the distro? Hi slansing, it is a 4 vCPU 4 GB RAM CentOS 6.4 32Bit virtual machine. The storage array behind it is really...

Re: CPU Load spike every 7 hours

We have the same problem in our environment since the upgrade to 2014 R1.1, only the interval is different I have tried to track the problem down, but was unsuccessful in doing so. The only thing i saw was an increased sys usage of the OS and increased overall procs. To fix this problem is to restar...
