Re: Nagios XI 2024R1 upgrade bug

One last bug.

This is using mysqlpass from /usr/local/nagiosxi/var/xi-sys.cfg, however, that is never changed when you offload a database, so it is incorrect.

You may want to update the offload database instructions to change that password as well.

Nagios XI 2024R1 upgrade bug

The upgrade script does not work if you have an offloaded database. Everything is setup expecting localhost or the mysql commands are run without specifying the offloaded server name. The file /tmp/nagiosxi/nagiosxi/nagiosxi-db/mods/mysql/schema_60000_root.sql file assumes that everything is on loca...

My understanding is that the discussions page is not monitored by Nagios employees like they were for the Forums. If you want Employee responses, you will need to open a case on Answer Hub. Per the "Welcome to Nagios Enterprises Questions & Answers. Join the Conversation!" topic: https...

Re: Issues after migrating to a new server

Ok, I have tested this out. RHEL 8.5 64bit VM Nagios XI server works fine after install. Logins work. Backup taken from RHEL 7.9 64bit VM Nagios XI server by running /usr/local/nagiosxi/scripts/backup_xi.sh Restore of the backup done to RHEL 8 server by running /usr/local/nagiosxi/scripts/restore_xi...

Re: Issues after migrating to a new server

So, I looked at all those files. None of them have changed from the time it worked pre-migration, to when it failed post migration.

Since this is a DEV server, I am going to have it restored from backup, run through the steps one at a time and see what happens and when the logins stop working again.

Re: Issues after migrating to a new server

Well, I spoke too soon. I got everything working, migrated my data using the instructions from Nagios, copied the data to the new offloaded database, redid the passwords and then started the service. Everything starts, the database is working fine, but I get this error whenever I try to log in. This...

Re: Issues after migrating to a new server

Ok, got it fixed. The issue appears to be entirely related to some FIPS fun and a new verison of openldap on RHEL 8 vs RHEL 7. These are the steps I had to run to fix it. edit the /etc/openldap/ldap.conf to uncomment the following line: TLS_CACERT /etc/pki/tls/cert.pem run the following commands: up...

Re: Issues after migrating to a new server

LDAP Search from the command line is failing with a complaint about the DH certificate key. I am reaching out from to our server team on this. [root@servername~]# LDAPTLS_REQCERT=never ldapsearch -x -H ldaps://LOAD_BALANCED_IP -D USER_ACCOUNT -W -b "SEARCH_BASE" -s sub "(cn=)&q...

Re: Issues after migrating to a new server

I have made the changes, but no logs are being written. I will be sending you the php.ini and the phpinfo(); output.
