We did not install the same version. We installed the newest version and a new OS.
What is the proper method to move from different versions of Nagios XI and OS?

Re: All alerts going to single user
We tried the Back-up-and-Restore documentation and this is the output it didn't work :). We are going to test the "Migration" method later today. [root@lxjh531 nagiosxi]# /usr/local/nagiosxi/scripts/restore_xi.sh /store/backups/nagiosxi/1566142282.tar.gz WARNING: you are trying to restore ...

Re: All alerts going to single user
1. We built a new server, tar'ed up all the cfg files on old server and copied them to new server where we used the import config file tool. Then committed. 2. No they are not getting any notifications. 3. From what we can tell the escalations/notifications have not been working since day one. 4. Us...

All alerts going to single user
We are in the process of migrating from an older Nagios version to new one by doing a new install. We have successfully migrated everything and all seems to be functioning "normally" with one exception. Our service/host escalation are set to go to user "A". But all notifications ...

Re: Escalation not defined anywhere
Found the problem. Some how, some way one of my admins was able to remove a host from a service which was causing the problem. I am not sure why I didn't see it in the log files.
System is working fine now.

Escalation not defined anywhere
From what I can tell from the audit logs no commits have been done since 2/10/2019 @ 13:19, where a host was added for monitoring. We went to update our on-call list this morning and now we are getting errors related to "an escalation but is not defined anywhere!" I deactivate the escalati...

Re: Host not showing up in dashboard after commit
Issue can be marked resolved. OS was updated and nagios got installed from EPEL. I removed those RPM's, re-ran the upgrade script for NagiosXI and then copied an init script from another XI box. System seems to operating normally. Follow up question. Do you use/need the epel repo enabled for NagiosX...

Re: Host not showing up in dashboard after commit
Same issue: however started digging. I thought the install was a build. Have you switched to RPM's? [root@lxjh159 init.d]# rpm -qa | grep nagios nagios-common-4.3.2-5.el6.x86_64 nagios-repo-6-2.el6.noarch nagios-4.3.2-5.el6.x86_64 Snippet from init script: [root@lxjh159 init.d]# cat nagios #!/bin/sh...

Re: Host not showing up in dashboard after commit
Yes, and a file is written into the configuration directory. The host doesn't show up on the dashboard.
