NagVis, Iframes and Dashboards

In https://support.nagios.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=51921 I asked about User "Tom" logs onto nagios to handle various operational tasks. Tom then, while still logged in, access the nagvis+ticket url. On screen it is reported that the dashboard doesn't exist. My end goal is this: I...

Re: Questions regarding updating Nagios XI to version 5.7.4

I just updated from 5.6.14 to 5.7.4 and probably need the same instructions. I see events happening in nagios.log, but nothing is getting to the webpage for display, and the monitoring engine shows nothing to be running. I did get everything working at one point, but only after repairing the databas...

host in maintenance red on latest alerts

When services are acknowledged, or in maintenance, the icon in the latest alerts dashlet switches to a wrench, as does the host. When hosts are acknowledged, of in maintenance, the icon in the latest alerts dashlet is always a red alert. Is this something I can fix, or is this expected behavior? It ...

update to 5.6.7

Trying to update to 5.6.7 and had problems. Running CentOS7 with all the latest patches. First the the web based update button just hung. https://support.nagios.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=50416 was a big help in recovering. Taking a server snapshot before updating was also good. Tried the ma...

include a host free variable in either the svc desc or notes

Is there any way to include a host free variable in either the service description or the service notes? I have a service that checks different things on different hosts, using the host free variables to define what to check, and this works well. I just need some way to notate on the main screen or ...

Re: Referencing dashboard.php by name

Ok, I created a new user for this purpose and it works. However. It's not working in this scenario: User "nagvis" has a dashboard and using the dashboard ticket, it is possible for non-logged in users to open the dashboard as a standalone item. User "Tom" logs onto nagios to hand...

Referencing dashboard.php by name

I've been asked to embed a NagiosXI Dashboard in a NagVis map. (see url snippit below) /nagiosxi/dashboards/dashboard.php?id=8PX0cO That is easy, using the dashboard ID, and works for one user. When the dashboard is published to other users, the dashboard ID changes. This breaks the url and NagVis m...
