Here's Null-client Configuration. Ran all the Check the syntax commands everything passed. But Test failed. Re: set up email alerts notification in RHEL7

I was able to fix the error by changing the hostname format. Now, we have a nagioscore system already running on Ubuntu. My company is currently in transition from Ubuntu to Redhat. Below is the existing nagioscore system .mailrc configuration file. [nagios@nagioscore ~]$ vi .mailrc set -S smtp=mail...

Re: set up email alerts notification in RHEL7

main.cfg
(26.36 KiB) Downloaded 225 times
The "myhostname" lines in main.cf file are commented out.

I tried adding my nagioscore server hostname in main.cf, but same error message.

nagioscore.mycompany.com

Also, It throws some error message when I tried to execute command below. # systemctl restart postfix.service Job for postfix.service failed because the control process exited with error code. See "systemctl status postfix.service" and "journalctl -xe" for details. [nagios@nagios...

Re: set up email alerts notification in RHEL7

Here's the command.cfg file on my nagios core. Not sure what you mean by default notification commands. define command { command_name notify-service-by-email command_line /usr/bin/printf "%b" "***** Nagios Monitor Core Alert*****\n\nNotification Type: $NOTIFICATIONTYPE$\n\nHost: $HOST...

Re: set up email alerts notification in RHEL7

We have Nagios core currently running on RHEL 7, and would like to know how to setup email notification.

MS outlook is our company email server provider and mailrelay.int.company.com and port # already verified the communication between Nagios core host and mail-relay server is pingable.

Re: Need help on how to install and configure plugins

Note: The NRPE daemon requires that Nagios plugins be installed on the remote Linux/Unix host. Without these, the daemon wouldn't be able to monitor anything. This could be another challenge for me here installing the plugins onto the remote Host? We have more than 1000+ VMs running on multiple VMw...

Re: Need help on how to install and configure plugins

We do not have any Windows VM currently installed in our lab, instead I tried using a Linux VM to install NCPA agent on VM. Apparently the url you've provided below for setting up checks in Nagios core is for Windows. https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nagioscore/docs/nagioscore/4/en/monitoring-win...

Re: Need help on how to install and configure plugins

As mentioned before Nagios core is what we currently have setup in our company. The link below is mainly for XI, and not sure if this guide would work with Nagios core?

Re: Need help on how to install and configure plugins

Hi, Do you have any step-by-step instructions or video tutorial on how to setup/install and configure steps below? 1)You will need to install an agent of some sort (we recommend NCPA if possible) on each of your VMs. 2)Then, you will need to configure your plugin as a command within the agent. 3)For...
