Re: How to monitor asm disk

This would generally be a question for your oracle admins to answer, we don't know about your system or what it should be (or have ever used asm). Send us the full output of this: find / -name sqlplus That should hopefully list where sqlplus is, if there are more than one you'll need to reach out to...

What does the final calculated host, contact, and service definition show in your objects.cache file? Based on these settings: check_interval 2 retry_interval 1 max_check_attempts 2 It will check every two minutes (check_interval), once an problem is detected it will check every minute (retry_interv...

Re: Service Performance Data not showing for Nagios plugins

Did you install PNP4Nagios on your Core server? It doesn't come with it installed, you'll need to manually set it up. As an example:

Code: Select all

Re: Service Performance Data not showing for Nagios plugins

The plugin determines if performance data is returned in the output, that's what generates the graphs automatically. See here: http://nagios-plugins.org/doc/guidelines.html#AEN200 Here are the settings: service_perfdata_file=/usr/local/nagios/var/service-perfdata service_perfdata_file_template=DATAT...

Re: Trying to Scheduled Host Downtime

Please change your /etc/group entries for these:

Code: Select all
nagios:x:1001:nagios
nagcmd:x:1002:apache

To these:

Code: Select all
nagios:x:1001:apache,nagios
nagcmd:x:1002:apache,nagios

Then restart the services and try again:

Code: Select all
service httpd restart
service nagios restart

Re: How do you configure and use Nagios plugins from Nagios

We generally will ask if it can be closed before closing them but the policy is that we want you to open a forum post per unrelated issue/plugin. An issue with one plugin will be totally different from another plugin (generally) so this specific forum post you created should just address the general...

Re: NCPA and windows Passive checks over NRDP

Sounds good, in addition, please see here as well for the NPCA Passives doc, I didn't see it listed earlier: https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/ncpa/docs/Using-NCPA-For-Passive-Checks.pdf @mbellerue is correct about the reg fix though, when the service runs in the backend it runs in the local syste...

Re: Transient warnings

To provide any value from the total number of procs you'd likely need to use the nproc limits:

Code: Select all
ulimit -u

That's about all I can think of for just checking the total number of procs.

Re: How do you configure and use Nagios plugins from Nagios

That is only a utility to help you, it's not a plugin for checking. wget -O mass_scheduler.pl 'https://exchange.nagios.org/components/com_mtree/attachment.php?link_id=2252&cf_id=24' Edit the file and set your nagios.cfg location: $nagios_config = '/usr/local/nagios/etc/nagios.cfg'; Run it: perl ...
