Hi All,
I am monitoring a ubuntu host (with nrpe) and would like to monitor the network card utilisation? Is this something I can do easily?
Cheers,
Chris.

monitor a pfsense firewall
Hi All,
I have recently installed a pfSense firewall. Before I jump in and do something stupid, I was wondering what is the best way to go about monitoring that machine. I have seen an nrpe plugin for the pfSense, should I install that? Or should I use SNMP and/or SSH?
Cheers,
Chris.

Re: Upgraded nagios host o/s now swich traffic bandwidht is
Hi tgriep, that fixed it thanks. I did the update after reading this thread which indicated that doing a yum update was safe. https://support.nagios.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=39192 Is there some way to stop yum from updating the mrtg components, or should I just not do the updates? Cheers, ...

Upgraded nagios host o/s now swich traffic bandwidht is zero
Hi All, the other day I did a yum update on the Centos VM running nagios, and ever since my switch traffic monitoring is showing 0Mbps. This is occurring on the three separate switches that I'm monitoring via SNMP. Nagios version 5.2.5 Centos version centos-release-6-8.el6.centos.12.3.x86_64 Profile...

Re: cpu usage hyper-v host
Hi rkennedy,
I ended up creating a script and defining a command that successfully checks and graphs the total processor usage from all VM's on the hosts. Thanks for your assistance.
Cheers,
Chris.

Re: cpu usage hyper-v host
Hi rkennedy, thanks for that. I always wondered what the "performance counters" were about and now I know. I'm having some difficulty actually getting the required parameter to work but I'm on the right track - I have it working from the command line but just can't quite get it to work fro...

cpu usage hyper-v host
Hello All, I'm monitoring the cpu usage of a Windows 2012 R2 Hyper-V host. The usage is a continual 1-2%. After much reading, this appears to be correct in that there is nothing running on the host and the standard tools only report the host CPU usage. However, I have discovered that using the "...
