Forking a configuration wizard into a custom one
Hi - I want to copy and customize the Windows WMI configuration wizard and change the default thresholds and add some additional alerts. I've done this before but the later version of Nagios XI overwrote it. I'm hoping separate wizard will keep my changes safe in the future. I cant seem to figure ou...

Missed critical alert notification
Hi - We had a service that went from WARNING to CRITICAL and it was logged as such in Nagios. Unfortunately a notification never came out when it was CRITICAL and I want to understand why. The service was in critical for over 1 hour but no alerts came out. We did get a WARNING and a RECOVERY message...

Re: aggregating performance data
Been a while since this thread was last active - were we good to close this up? Good point, were your devs able to make any progress with the request? Also the latest version of Nagios XI REMOVED the option to even select a date range :( That's even worse than not providing a "CUSTOM" fie...

Re: aggregating performance data
not sure if this may help you in the short term until something is added officially, but: https://github.com/Bandits-Home/perf_report I am now running that script to get "heavy hitter" hosts. You could change to make for past 3 months instead of past month. Hi BanditBBS - Thanks for the s...

Cleaning up metrics
Hi - Is it possible to modify a service alert to prevent it from being in an alert state? Some alerts we would like to keep for the metrics but the options prevent me from skipping the -warning and -critical options. Basically can we override the output to have it be 'OK' all the time from the servi...

Servicegroup command doest work
Hi - I want to leverage the command to put all systems within the service group into maintenance but it doesn't work. The option is there and there isn't any error but the systems are not marked for maintenance nor is it listed inside the maintenance list. I went to Home > Service group summary > Se...

Nagios performance improvement / Scale out plan
Hi - We are noticing performance hits with Nagios - especially with the native ESX checks (which has been fixed using box293's check). Our implementation of Nagios is on a VM and it currently already has the maximum number of CPU's assigned to it (8) on a relatively new host. What are our options fo...

Nagios scale out options?
Hi - I recently tried to add a few dozen ESX hosts and it caused Nagios to hit our ESX cluster hard. It's currently consuming 30% of resource off of one node which is surprising since this is a brand new Dell PowerEdge 730xd with 24 cores and 784GB of ram. So we need to understand what we can do to ...
