Re: Service Escalation lists no services
I tried to create service templates for each snmp service I want to support on my linux boxes (lets say 5 total services). Then I created a single service, targeted it to my linux host, and inherited all the snmp service templates. I was hoping by inheriting these templates my host would automatical...

Re: Service Escalation lists no services
Thanks for the response. I understand the logic behind a single instance for each configuration object and agree that it gives a much finer level of control. For environments with similar hardware, and basic system services that are all the same it makes a lot of sense for us to reuse the services/m...

Re: Service Escalation lists no services
I believe this is a bug in the XI interface and not nagios core. I removed all Linux hosts but 1 in my linux snmp hostgroup. I then created a service escalation targeted to this hostgroup, saw all the services and selected *. After the escalation was created I went back to the linux snmp hostgroup a...

Network Outage 3D Status Map Not Found
I'm looking at the Network Outages page and everything appears to work except the 3D Status Map. Anytime I click on this link I get a page not Found error. I looked on the file system and the file doesn't exist. Do I need to do something special to get the 3D Status Map working? When I select this o...

Service Escalation lists no services
I have created a group of Linux SNMP monitors and assigned them to the LINUX SNMP hostgroup. Any server in that group will pick these monitors up. Now I want to setup a Service Escalation for a few of the monitors that are targeted to the LINUX SNMP hostgroup. When I go into the NagiosXI Core Config...

NagiosXI Performance Graph API
I haven't been able to find out a lot of detailed information as far as what capabilities are supported in the performance data for NagiosXI. I currently have a plugin monitoring disk usage for my network appliance. The graph is working, but I wanted to know if I had the ability to customize it more...

Re: how can I group monitors and apply different timeperiods
Thanks for the responses. I tried playing with time periods and I setup my check and notifiy periods to use my custom time period. I believe this disables notifications and checks for the host and not all the services that get targeted to the host via the hostgroup. I'm not sure if scheduled downtim...

how can I group monitors and apply different timeperiods
I'm evaluationg nagiosXI and want to know the best way to implement it so I don't have a lot of service maint work. To minimize services creation I have built different types of service monitors and targeted them to host groups instead of hosts. They inherit default templates and are pretty generic ...

Re: How Can new linux hosts inherit a group of services?
I finally got this working. I was creating a services template in the GUI and I guess this wasn't the right area. I removed my service template and just created a normal service in the GUI and assigned that to my host group and now it works as expected. I'm not sure why using service templates didn'...
