Splunk indexer monitoring
Hey All, I'm looking to monitor just 1 or 2 Splunk indexers just to make sure they are up and running. Curiously so far, I've only seen plugins which monitor the running versions. So they are monitoring the version of the Splunk indexer for some reason. Not the health of the indexer. Is anyone doing...

Nagios email alerts from multiple Nagios instances
We have multiple Nagios servers sending email alerts. I'm trying to find out how I can differentiate which server emails are coming from. The 'From' field contains the Nagios hostname from which it's coming but the hostnames are different by 1 character, and not really obvious. So I want to really b...

check_ssl_cert ssl handshake error
Hello All, I'm getting ssl handshake errors when using a check_ssl_cert Nagios plugin. Specifically - 140790E5:SSL routines:ssl23_write:ssl handshake failure:s23_lib.c:177: I know it's probably a timeout or server is busy issue - but I'd like it not to go in critical state and send alerts. I've got ...

Re: service check interval ?
Thanks Scott;
I've done this and it seems to work:
normal_check_interval 1440
notification_interval 1440

check_ssl_cert plugin
So I'm really trying to figure this out; On the command line, I'm doing a "check_ssl_cert -H <fqdn>" , and if I don't provide it the -s (for self signed certificate), I get a "cannot verify certificate". I know it's a self signed cert. So I provide the command with the "-s&q...

service check interval ?
I'm using a check_ssl_cert plugin and I really only want it to check, maybe every day, although even that seems too much.
Does anyone know how to set up a service to check every day ? So check every day and notify every day ?
