Took a while for my topic to be approved but I have found the cause..

There seem to be two copies of the service running at the same time, killing all copies and restarting the services seems to fix this...however this problem seems to happen alot, even when I am not touching the box.

I have Nagios installed on a Window's machine monitoring a number of Window's machines.. Set up everything last week, the checks all seemed to be running correctly and I could test this by switching a service off on my machine and seeing it update.
