This is what I did and it seems to have worked I deleted chicondb1_server.cfg Then I created another chicondb1_server through nagios XI I then went to tools and ran those selections I checked and chicondb1_server.cfg was out in the directory I then did an apply config in nagios XI and it left alone ...

I have tried to delete them from /usr/local/nagios/etc but everytime I app conf from nagios XI it comes back

No There is a cfg file called chicondb1_server.cfg in /usr/local/nagios/etc/services that should not be there I moved everything that was in chicondb1_server.cfg to chicondb1_servers without any problem but the file will not go away That is why the dups. Followed your directions but still sync missed. But one thing is different I had to create config name nitccondb01_server for the ones that would not sync when they were in config name nitccondb01_servers I changed them back to nitccondb01_servers which mean all of nitccondb01_server services should...

Still the only way to sync is to change the config name
Trying to attached the file but it says extension cfg is not allowed so changed to doc extension and says doc is not allowed

I just rebooted the server and now core config manager works.
But the sync missed issue is still there
