Re: check_nrpe stopped working after Nagios XI upgrade to 5.
RESOLVED! I checked other clients (Windows) from the Nagios XI console and they were returning correct data from check_nrpe calls, so I took the nsclient.ini file from one of the "good" clients and copied it the one I was having issues connecting to. I then restarted the NSClient++ Monito...

Re: check_nrpe stopped working after Nagios XI upgrade to 5.
Here the output from our /usr/local/nagios/var/nrpe.log. I currently don't have any iptables entries for port 5666. Looks like it's adding our Nagios XI server IP correctly (192.168.8.112): [1616032983] parse_allowed_hosts: parsing the allowed host string >127.0.0.1,::1,192.168.8.112< to add to ACL ...

Nagios XI running 5.8.2 CentOS Linux release 7.5.1804 (Core) CHECK_NRPE plug 4.0.3 After upgrading our Nagios XI server to 5.8.2 our check_nrpe stopped working. We receive: CHECK_NRPE: Error - Could not connect to 192.168.8.62. Check system logs on xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx /var/log/messages shows: Mar 17 16:...

Can I add Warning/Critical to host notifications?
Nagios XI 5.6.6 I have added 15 or so domain names that we own to be monitored in Nagios XI using check_domain.php. I added each domain name as a host and the whois works fine. If I add services, I immediately receive Unknown alerts. I create a host group for our domains and called the group DomainN...

Re: Lost the contents of our /etc/snmp/snmp.conf file
I was able to restore the latest backup snmp.conf file and it has the very same line as my updated one did.
I made this way too difficult. But at least I can restore single files now.
Thanks again!

Lost the contents of our /etc/snmp/snmp.conf file
I was following steps to update our snmp.conf file when I ended up with only 1 line in it that contains: mibs +ALL Prior to issuing the command to add this line, I did not create a copy of my snmp.conf file. I fear I've overwritten some important info. I have NOT restarted the httpd service yet. 1) ...

Re: Create servicegroup to check domain status - RESOLVED!
Thanks Benjamin. I started over and deleted all references to the domain checks (with the exception of the check_domain.php plug-in). Creating a separate host for each domain name did the trick. I was able to create services for each host using check_domain.php and then create a service group - work...
