Problem is solved.
I get data from the switches, and no more errors!

So the erroneous .rrd files were leftovers from other configs.
Removed the switches, removed the files and made a new config.

Solved!

Removed the config for these devices, and removed the files from /var/lib/mrtg corresponding to the device(s) Let's wait a while and see if the errors are gone.
