Re: Host template not applying to additional onboarded hosts
Yes, hosts inherit configuration from the templates applied to them. The document linked below explains exactly how this relationship works. Object Inheritance With Templates Another thing to keep in mind is that some configurations take precedence over others, meaning that some can overrule or over...

Re: Nagios configuration transfer
Yes! Absolutely. If you are migrating from one Nagios XI server to another, you could perform a backup and restore . Backing Up And Restoring Your Nagios XI System For individual config transfers, you will probably want to follow the document linked to import them into the other server. Migrating Fr...

I don't see port 12489 on the list of open ports. Can you open that one on your firewall?

Re: cofig wont save
The configuration files are written by XI with information from the database. So, it is not advisable to change your XI configuration that way. Do you see a contact named username or username1 for filename or filename1 ? Navigate to the Configure section of XI using the top bar > click Core Config M...

Re: Issue with DNS Resolution after update to 5.7.2
I second that you should scan the host, just to verify that the ports are accessible from the Nagios XI instance. sudo nmap -sT -O localhost I should also mention that someone else who got the same error, found that it was related to a version of openssl . Can you check that your openssl version is ...

Re: Failover, Redundancy, High Availability
The Nagios XI license allows three instances, but the relationship between them is not exactly that of master and slave . They are separate installs that allow you to test updates and changes before you implement them in production. Please follow the link below for more information on what a Nagios ...

Re: CRITICAL - Cannot make SSL connection.
Can you try it with the IP address instead of the domain? That way we can tell if the problem is with the domain name resolving. Are you specifying http:// or https:// in the domain? Does the certificate appear to be valid when you visit the site in a browser? You may also want to add the -v flag so...

Re: How to stop alerting for a specific service 00:00-03:00
You can achieve this by adjusting the time period options on the contact for that notification. Navigate to the Configure section of XI using the top bar > click Core Config Manager under Advanced Configuration on the left pane > then click Contacts under Alerting > click on the relevant contact > s...

Re: Issue with DNS Resolution after update to 5.7.2
What version of the plugin are you running? You may want to update the plugin as well as XI . /usr/local/nagios/libexec/check_dns -V What happens if you try to run the check from the command line? That may yield additional information that we can use to determine what is going on. /usr/local/nagios/...

Re: XIv5.7.2 - Jquery version 1.11.2 has cross-site script v
You are safe to remove the jquery-1.11.2.min.js file as XI 5.7.2 does not use jquery-1.11.2.min.js anymore anywhere in the sourcecode, it uses jquery-1.12.4.min.js as long as you're on XI 5.7.2.
