Re: "Waiting for Database Startup" for 14 hours

When this problem is experienced the solution is to reboot ALL of the NLS instances in the cluster. This requires rebooting the entire operating system, not just some of the services on the server. After rebooting ALL of the NLS instances in the cluster the problem will be resolved. dino game I onl...

After 5.11.1 "UNKNOWN - No info is being retrieved" from Watchguard FW interfaces

Hi all, I applied 5.11.1 yesterday. Immediately after that, I stopped receiving data from two of my Watchguard firewalls. They are using a small range of Fireware OS's, so I don't think this is firewall OS related. All of them were added with the WG wizard. Is this happening to anyone else?

Re: "Waiting for Database Startup" for 14 hours

Very nice summary, thank you! I ended up installing CentOS Stream 9 and restoring my backups to the new host. So far so good. I will keep your post bookmarked, though!

Re: "Hosts in this list did not send any logs during the hourly log sending check."

I tried that but it didn't work. I refreshed the page, restarted the browser, tried a different browser, rebooted the server, and clicked Reload on the tab a bunch of time. Reloading did show me that the count was increasing, but the "Not Sending" never changed. I ended up manually deletin...

"Hosts in this list did not send any logs during the hourly log sending check."

Hello, is there a way to manually run the hourly log sending check? I had some disk space issues yesterday and needed to resize my main drive. I verified that the log server is now collecting logs normally from 28 of my 28 hosts, but under Home -> Unique Hosts -> Reports, I still have 27 hosts that ...

Re: "Waiting for Database Startup" for 14 hours

For anyone looking at this in the future, looks like the default datastore is /usr/local/nagioslogserver/elasticsearch/data/ It appears that the metadata files that my Elasticsearch needed to open the indexes were gone. Not sure why moving them between data stores wiped out those files, but they wer...

Re: "Waiting for Database Startup" for 14 hours

It is a stand alone server. I had a space crunch a while back and had to remove the second server from the cluster in a hurry. I did try commenting out the removed servers in cluster_hosts, but it didn't help ElasticSearch start up. I've decided to build a new CentOS Stream 9 server and copy my back...

"Waiting for Database Startup" for 14 hours

Hello! Yesterday I powered off my Nagios LS server (the basic OVF I've used for months) and moved it between datastores to get ready for a full CentOS install. When the OVF powered up, it gave me the "Waiting for Database Startup" page and has remained there for about 14 hours. I read a bu...

Re: Virtual servers reboot too fast

Took me two weeks, but I finally got back to this issue! After further testing, I ended up finding out that checks every minute with 0 retries and 1 max check was reliable after all. Since I have a small monitoring group, this is fine for my purposes, though I might look into using the Windows Event...
