Looking for a network and device monitoring app
Small in home network just wanting to have something to play with and to learn with. What is a good solution? I would like to be notified when a device on my home network goes down. Maybe even monitor devices in house for CPU spikes and all. No real reason .. just to learn and play.

Re: Nagios plugins location
We can have two different types of host check: direct check (nagios -> command check_ping(HOSTADDRESS) -> local plugin check_ping(HOSTADDRESS)); In this case no plugins or NRPE or something else required on Second machine. Nagios calls local plugin check_ping, it's make a check, Nagios gets the resu...

Problems in Nagios when Using LDAP
I have LDAP authentication setup for my Nagios instance and it seems to be working properly such that that Nagios and Adagios recognize my username. Tonight I did notice that I'm unable to schedule downtime or acknowledge problems when logged in as myself. I verified that I'm a member of the same co...

BPI display on dashboard
Hi I was wondering if there was a way to display the BPI overview on a dashboard in Nagios XI? I have seen the dashlet that’s available for Fusion, but we only have XI, worst case is to publish the BPI page as a URL and embed it on one of the dashboard, but surely this isn’t the only way to get that...

Nagios conditional checks
Hi Currently I am monitoring my target windows hosts for a bunch of services (CPU, memory, disks, ssl certs, http etc). I'm using nsclient as the client that the nagios server will talk to. My problem is that I deploy to those hosts three times every 24 hours. The deployment process requires the hos...

Re: Service and host dependancies not working
You want service dependencies for each Selenium check, in this case. The Selenium check for "server B" depends on a service check that's on server B (for example, a check of the web server using check_http). You can simplify the configuration using host and/or service groups with ome gle s...

Re: Nagios core behind proxy
I spent a couple of days trying to reverse proxy three XI instances with Apache with the same results. I tries rewriting all sorts of things in URLs and content. No go. I ended up installing Thruk as a front end to our Nagos XI instances. Had to install livestatus alongside XI on each of the monitor...
