Re: Windows Performance Counters - Best Practices for Nagios
Well I am back in the same boat...seems very confusing to set up various normal performance counters offered by applications. I have one for Lotus Notes that I need to monitor. The counter reports a value of 252+ in windows performance monitor, but in Nagios I always get a "0". Here is the...

Re: Just installed 2011 1.1 - Where is the Hypermap?
OK I found it, but I cannot download it. I AM logged in with my nagios library account for my company. When I click on the link to download it, it asks me to subscribe! Is there a direct download link or something? How can I get out of this perpetual loop the website has me in?

Windows Performance Counters - Best Practices for Nagios?
Is there a special document or helpfile on gathering Windows server performance counters? I notice there are few templates, and when I try to use the ones in the Windows Server Wizard as templates, I always fail. Right now I have a specific need to monitor the transaction log of a database on a MSSQ...

Re: Getting Windows Performance counters "just right"
Ok I tried that now I just get return code out of bounds (139).
I don't know what to do with it. Frustrating.

Re: Getting Windows Performance counters "just right"
Still cannot get it to work. For reference, the counter I am trying to get is SQL Server:Databases - [database name] Log File(s) Size (KB) I used the Windows Server Monitoring Wizard to create the service check. No matter what I do, it still returns a "0" as the result, even though the log...

Re: ...About to purchase but have 3 outstanding items
I will give the plugins a try on items 1 and 2. As far as item 3 goes, I am just using the standard Windows Server Wizard and replacing one of the performance counter lines with the line shown below: -l "\\SQLServer:Databases\\BPM_Engine_PRD\\Log File(s) Size (KB)","Current BPM Transa...

...About to purchase but have 3 outstanding items
Hi, our company is about to purchase Nagios XI but I have three outstanding issues I need to resolve. 1) I need an easy way to check file sizes on Linux machines and alert when they go over a certain threshold in KB. 2) Need to monitor the memory / heap size used by Java VM's under Linux (as in Webs...
