Re: Nagios Core Server OS version upgrade.
Hey dagrawal Is it safe to assume the servers you are migrating to are also just core and not XI? I ask cause Xi has an option in its gui to migrate servers that works with core. Otherwise the best instructions I have found so far is to scp files to the new server. I'll add links to the webpage talk...

Re: NTP Time Drift
There was another thread on this but didn't see a full solution so need to ask again. My goal is to check the time of a host machine (Windows and Linux and Physical as well as Virtual) and compare it to a known time source (Domain controller or ntp server). If the difference is greater than 'x' min...

Re: time definitions can't be deleted in timeperiod (missing button)
Hello, I need to change / delete a time definition in a timeperiod, but now I noticed that the delete buttons are gone. I checked this by using other users (including nagiosadmin), different themes and different browsers, no difference. Is this a bug, or a problem in our installation? We are runnin...

Re: Copy custom scripts from core to XI
That is the correct location for plugins so that seems weird. Could you try restarting your nagios and nagiosxi and see if it is a caching issue? It could also possibly be a permissions issue, you could try chowning it to nagios:nagios and see if that fixes it.

Re: Check Linux Disk Space
I've been searching for some time now and can't find anything - my search skills aren't great - so I figured I'd try to ask here and you can point me to what I'm missing. New position and they have an XI instance running. It hasn't been configured much - just a couple of hosts added by the basic wi...

Thanks for the request, it would definitely help users decide if they would want to upgrade. I will bring it up as something requested.

Re: Disable Neptune Prompts Post Upgrade
Sorry for the delay but I come back with a solution assuming you have access to and are willing to modify your db values. If you are then after the upgrade has been ran and you have the banner, you can log into your mysql db via the command line. After logged into run use nagiosxi; and then the comm...

Re: Disable Neptune Prompts Post Upgrade
Our team is looking at Neptune, as we do with all changes in Nagios XI. The Neptune UI would be a drastic change for our users. We first need to decide if we want to make Neptune the default UI for all users, for parity. We also need to update user documentation and KB articles, as well as communic...

Re: Upgrade to Nagios 2024R1.1.1 fails with SQL root password issue
I am getting this error Stored or entered MySQL root password does not work. Make sure the "mysqlpass" value in "/usr/local/nagiosxi/etc/xi-sys.cfg" and "/usr/local/nagiosxi/var/xi-sys.cfg" is up to date and accurate or enter in the up to date password when upgrading w...

Re: Upgrade to Nagios 2024R1.1.1 fails with SQL root password issue
What is the error given when trying to upgrade? From another post I saw that you are running a two server setup with your db on a separate server, this may create complications so if we cant figure it out quickly here it may be best to open an Answer Hub ticket.
