thanks. I installed it and went through the wizard to add my hosts but I don't see them in the host list. Am I missing a step?

thanks for the quick response. Is there an eval version for this wizard? I am still evaluating Nagios XI to see if it fits our environment (which I'm pretty sure it will)...

Hello, I need to add more than 1000 hosts to NagiosXi. They are all using the same services. However, each host will have a dependent/parent host. Do you have a documention or recommendation on how to best configure nagios xi for monitoring... for example, if I already know the services I need to add, is it best to create a service or service group first before adding my hosts?

thanks for your response. I ended starting form scratch
1. Installed CentOS 6, base server and included MySQL, PHP and Psql
2. after CentOS, installed gnome, gcc and mrtg
3. downloaded Nagios XI latest release 1.8
4. extracted
5. ran ./fullinstall
6. VIOLA!!! successful install!!!
