Re: Ongoing CCM Problems

It's great that you've identified another issue with using a proxy server. After configuring yum and wget to use the proxy it's clear that every other application is left to it's own devices. It would seam more appropriate to configure the proxy at a system level instead of at an application level. ...

Re: Host still showing up under service status

When you performed the steps killall nagios service nagios start Did you look first or did you just run the commands as is? Here are some useful tools for process management and debugging on UNIX systems. yum -y install gdb; # Install the debugger. pstree -p > nagiostree.txt; for ech in $(pgrep nagi...

Re: check_http follow redirect error

For the two service check method you would check the redirect, not only would you fail to match if the redirect was missing but you would also send an alert if the URL had ever changed. That is you do a match on the whole string returned from the server. If you wanted something that would follow the...

That solution would indicate the the permissions were incorrect. Check the http://go.nagios.com/faqs for the solution.

Re: WEB Transaction

I don't think the wizard supports posttype="text/xml" You may have to resort to using postbody that is not a file as is with this posttype. You could still use this is you planted the files on the server yourself. You would then just set postbody appropriately for where you uploaded the fi...

Re: nagios XI snmp trapsender component not working

If it's of any use 192.168.5.4 would be on the network our developers use. I could hypothesise that you need to configure the component this is done on the management screen where it's uploaded.

You may need to unzip the component change this part and re-zip/upload it.

Re: Service Status Summary - Results display issue

I've seen this when the hostgroup all is deleted or not every host belongs to it. Check the URLs being passed for some clue to the actual filtering being performed.

Re: check_http plugin

I'm unable to quote this properly for a shell. Neither of your examples are quoted properly as far as my testing can conclude. This is the closest I can get passing the URL via a file handle. root@ubuntu:/usr/lib/nagios/plugins# ./check_http -s'Connecting to Siemens Enterprise Configuration System. ...

Re: check_http follow redirect error

You can also use Web Transactions. Though I feel that would be overly complex a solution.

The benefit for having this as two checks is that you are directed to what part is acting up, rather then having to decide/discover what request is not happy today.

Re: Upgrade

I'll ask. I would hope that the data would be forward-ported on import, but this depends on how well thought-out the backup format is. My suspicion is that at this time the product hasn't evolved enough for you to encounter any issues. You can get downloads of every version back to the vary first re...
