Re: CCM and /usr/local/nagios/etc/hosts
I forgot that CCM comes with the two intermediate levels, as tmcdonald wrote: To be clear, are you using something like the Student Core or Pro Core versions with the CCM? So to further help you, we'd need to know if you're running Student Core, Pro Core, or Nagios XI. I'm using Pro Core. Thanks!

Re: CCM and /usr/local/nagios/etc/hosts
What's a faster way to add 200 more hosts than one at a time via CCM? CCM is Nagios XI, not Nagios Core, so you're in the wrong topic. But that's not my problem. :-) My suggestion is to write a script that creates a valid Nagios hosts.cfg file, and then you can dump that into /usr/local/nagios/etc/...

Re: CCM and /usr/local/nagios/etc/hosts
The only bulk wizard I've been able to find is for the XI http://exchange.nagios.org/directory/Ad ... rd/details
Is there one for Nagio Core?
Thanks!

CCM and /usr/local/nagios/etc/hosts
Using CCM I've now got a bunch of xxx.cfg files. It's a pain to create these one at a time via the CCM web interface so I tried to copy some and give them an edit. CCM deleted them after not adding them. I'm missing something pretty important in this process. Does CCM take these files and write them...

Nagios XI vs Fusion vs V-Shell vs Core, seem to overlap?
As I read the overviews and look over the screenshots all seem to monitor devices. I can see that XI is a professionally managed configuration, but it gets confusing after that which product you'd want to use. It looks like V-Shell is separate from Core, which makes me wonder what it's purpose is? I...

Nagios plugins documentation doesn't explain how to install
http://nagios.sourceforge.net/docs/nagi ... ugins.html
The documentation tells you how to check an installed plugin, but not how to install them.
Anyone have a basic explanation of how one would install a plugin?
Thanks

Re: POE reporting on HP Procurve
I suspect if I could write plugins to scrape websites for Nagios I wouldn't be posting simple questions on this forum.

Re: How to add multiple hosts(upto 500) in nagios core 3.5
Is this how most people configure Nagios, one host at a time? Or are there add-ons that can be used?
Or are you saying that Nagios Core is limited and other Nagios versions are not?

Adding multiple hosts or discovery? - n00b
I've got Nagios up and running monitoring a few hosts, but it's rather apparent that adding the 200+ hosts I'd like to monitor one at a time is not very productive. I must assume that this has been solved many times and that Nagios even has a discovery tool perhaps? Please don't tell me everyone wri...
