Re: Automatic Notifications stop after upgrades

There is an error "(Cannot update mailbox /var/mail/root for user root. error writing message: file too large)"
Would I have to delete the /var/mail/root file and let it get recreated? or is there a way to truncate the file?

thanks for the quick reply compared to my slower one. :)

Re: Monitor a non-domain windows box

Restarting the service - No joy
The IP address is correct. - Still no joy

Scratching my head :-(
Just thinking in type....
because there is no trust relationship, would there need to be a local "nagios" user on the Windows box (non-domain member)?

Re: Monitor a non-domain windows box

For now just the default checks through the monitoring wizard so NSclient checks. This may grow in time. But this will be good enough to start with.

Monitor a non-domain windows box

Hi all, I have a bit of an odd question... My Nagios xi box (Centos box) is a Domain member. I have a Windows 2008 R2 box that is connected to our network but has the requirement to not be a domain member. I am finding that Nagios can ping the tagret box (non-domain member) but returns the error mes...

Re: VMware converted to ESX compatible machine

Hi Scott,

Thank you very much, this has fixed it. :)
Am I correct in saying that for the remainder of the 60 days I can add more than 7 hosts. Or am I playing with fire again.

Re: VMware converted to ESX compatible machine

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.
In, Core Config Manager->Monitoring->Hosts there are 7 hosts.

Admin->System Config->License Information Screenshot is below

So it looks like the number of hosts isnt the problem? But for some reason none of the hosts show up in any view :(

VMware converted to ESX compatible machine

Hi all, I am trying to get a proof of concept running. While building up the config locally I stupidly I imported 10 hosts (more than 7 that you are allowed with the eval version) After the conversion and improting the VM into vsphere the Nagios vm continues to monitor hosts and send out notificatio...
