Re: Dynamic Monitoring in Nagios XI
It would be really hard for Nagios or any Enterprise to make something like that work for every customer. I've worked for years with Microsoft SCOM where 'management packs' were able to discover new disks etc, but this brought a whole new range of problems such as excessive noise and complicated co...

Re: Dynamic Monitoring in Nagios XI
That's not true for all wizards. One of the major improvements in XI5 was the expansive use of smart wizards. SNMP and WMI wizards will now gather filesystems for you and you can just clicky clicky to add them. Hopefully I'm not making that up, it has been awhile since I've run either, but I think ...

Dynamic Monitoring in Nagios XI
Hi, Wondering if anyone has attempted to dynamically monitor services (for e.g. file systems, VMware VMs and other ever changing items) using Nagios XI? I realize you can create a blanket/global plugin, say for example for file systems to say if any mount point exceeds a threshold then fire, etc. bu...

Re: Bandwidth Report in bits/s instead of bytes/s
Is it actually displaying the bytes/second or is it displaying what appears to be the proper bits/second but the label just says bytes? If you just need to change the label for one host, you might be able to do something like this: /usr/local/nagiosxi/html/includes/components/bandwidthreport/index....

And there is no way/hack around this?scottwilkerson wrote:The Bandwidth report doesn't ready the MRTG config, it assumes the default and currently displays "Bytes/s".

Bandwidth Report in bits/s instead of bytes/s
I changed the options for a particular host in /etc/mrtg/conf.d/192.168.10.100.cfg Options[_]: growright, bits However the report (Bandwidth Usage report) in Nagios XI still seem to plot in Bytes/sec. I thought it read cfg file in next sample, i.e. in 5 mins - or is there something else that needs t...

Re: Nagios XI Status Information coming back as 'null'
Hi,
Issue was due to incorrect lib directory and it does now work fine. I scanned the script over and over but missed that bit, I guess I was concentrating on exit codes but the fact that CLI was returning back results made me convince myself it wasn't the script. Thanks a lot for your help...

Nagios XI Status Information coming back as 'null'
Hi, I have an issue where the command runs fine on CLI but Nagios XI keeps reporting it as 'null'. I can't see any differences in the way the services are defined... Its based on a custom plugin available on the Exchange. define host { host_name IBM SAN use xiwizard_generic_host address XX.XX.XX.XX ...
