Re: Notifications via SMS
i have developed my own solution, special build for nagios/xi based on .NET, run on server/pc hooked with ordinary GSM modem/Cellphone. Building my own solutions give me freedom to tackle some problem on GSM modem hardware interaction, such as modem hick-ups/hung. I have tested this sms notification...

Re: Is there a Solaris 10 Agent for Nagios XI
Yes, definitely, since i have created my own wizard. solaris use sma facilities, which use net-snmp, so default check from nagios plugin runs ok with small tweak. I haven't try SNMP Traps yet, In my case, the ideas is to have historical of system metrics of CPU and memory usage for problem analysis,...

Re: Is there a Solaris 10 Agent for Nagios XI
instead of using agent, i use snmp for solaris CPU load and Memory+Swap monitoring, by enabling solaris sma, and using available check snmp for cpu and memory. so far it runs OK, although need a bit tweak on check_snmp_mem.

Re: Database Permissions
I think comparing MySql and Postgres will subject for debate. But MySQL is not a real DB can be easily tacked. if we are talking MyISAM yes, but not for InnoDB. But in the case of XI, if one of the DB fail say mysql, we can access XI but we can not use the system, it is no difference if we are using...

Re: Other Means to Send Alerts
Your request will be simply done using Nagios. You can create event handler to send custom snmp traps or whatever your event management can accept. once event handler set up, if any of your host/service status in Nagios went warning or critical, it will run the event handler.

But me myself still wondering why xi used 2 different database: postgres for xi and mysql for nagios. if it needs transaction and advanced feature of sql, is mysql is not su...

Re: MSSQL Service Checks
hi, try with google "rpmfind php-mssql", search for the rpm and match with your php version (output of php -v). no guarantee to work since the module is very sensitive even to minor version. i use this method to search for php-mssql and php-mcrypt module which not found on dag yum repo, bu...
