Nagios Support Forum

Hoping someone can help me out with this,
I have a 64 bit machine that returns the correct checks for all the services but always returns a "Host check timed out" Error for the host itself. Any ideas of where i can look to narrow things down? Thanks in advance

I am new to nagios and linux and am haveing trouble. When i try and perfrom and tasks like force a service check or acknowledge a problem i get an error that reads "Error: could not open command file '/var/nagios/rw/nagios.cmd' for update
