Lateralus, did you need anything else related to this or should I close this thread up?
All is well. You can close the case.
Thanks!

Re: How to Disable (some of) Nagios' Functionality

Superb stuff, millisa! I was thinking about limiting this option via Apache before I opened this thread. I was playing with "ScriptAliasMatch" directive and it didn't work. Now I understand what I did wrong. Works like a charm! This is excellent mate! Thanks a lot, you've just saved me a l...

Re: How to Disable (some of) Nagios' Functionality

It is absolutely possible, although likely requires modification to the cgi C code and a recompilation of nagios. Do you just want the disable notifications and disable checks buttons removed\made unworkable? I can probably write you a patch this weekend without issue, I just want to be sure of exa...

How to Disable (some of) Nagios' Functionality

Hi folks, I have an interesting question. Some of the IT members in our company disobey my instructions and constantly disable notifications/active-checks for hosts and services, when I simply ask them to schedule downtime or acknowledge. I'm interested in a way to sabotage the buttons of "Disa...

Re: Nagios Stops Executing Checks

Make sure that you recompile plugins which are compatible with 3.5.1, there were some big changes made to Core since the 4.0 release and the plugins had to be altered to these specifications. We have seen some backwards compatibility issues, but check_nt should be fine. Thanks for the heads up mate...

check_nt[13010]: segfault at 0 ip 00000036f243a734 sp 00007fffd62aafa0 error 4 in libc-2.12.so[36f2400000+189000] Depending on how this segfault effects the nagios fork(), you could have an ever growing number of zombie/stuck processes. This is solved by compiling check_nt from the newer nagios-plu...

Nagios Stops Executing Checks

Hi folks, I'm an experienced Nagios Core admin, and Linux Engineer, but lately I'm facing an unexplainable issue with Nagios Core version 3.5.1 running on CentOS 6.4 and I need your help. I've scorched the web for answers but couldn't find any, and also spent more than 12 hours trying to understand ...

Re: Email Notifications containing Macros - Acknowledgement

The words "Author:" and "Comments:" are not related to the macro in any way whatsoever they are just static text some one has put there, the macros aren't there at all. The easiest way to get the functionality you want would be to remove those static words... a service would dis...

Re: Email Notifications containing Macros - Acknowledgement

They are operating exactly as I would expect based on the information you have provided. When it's an acknowledgement you see the username and comment and when it's an alert you see just a blank space as you demonstrated... this is the expected behaviour. Maybe I'm confused, but you say they are op...

Email Notifications containing Macros - Acknowledgement

Hi guys, I'm using the latest version of Nagios, and have come up with a problem from the email notifications' Macros. When Nagios sends a notification email of ACKNOWLEDGEMENT,I added $HOSTACKAUTHOR$ and $HOSTACKCOMMENT$ to the command. My intention was obviously to display the username acknowledgi...
