Re: Modifying/Editing Notifications E-mail Body
Thanks sooo much for your help! This worked perfectly! Since we are using Check_MK in conjunction with Nagios, I had to add a custom config in order for the parameter to show up for our hosts: extra_host_conf["_location"] = [ ( "NYC-Datacenter", ["loc-nyc-datacent"], AL...

Re: Modifying/Editing Notifications E-mail Body
Thank You so much for the quick response. I think I have a better understanding of the syntax based on my reading of macros and the code in your response. The problem, however, which I forgot to mention in my original post, is that our hosts are spread across several different locations. So I'd need...

Modifying/Editing Notifications E-mail Body
Hello I was wondering if it was possible to modify the notification emails that Nagios sends out. What we'd like to do specifically, is add a "Location" line in addition to the standard information that Nagios sends out with its notification. Here is an example: ***** Nagios ***** Notifica...

Null Value During Oracle Check
Hello, I guess this is more of a Check_MK specific question, however it does relate to Nagios Core. We are running Check_MK 1.2.0p2 and Nagios Core 3.4.1. We are trying to use Check_MK to monitor Oracle on our Oracle 11.2 host. I’ve set up a manual check as checks += [ ( "db01", "orac...

Re: Parent Child Configuration for Different Networks
So I've updated my config to this, which looks more accurate based on how our network topology is set up: parents = [ ( "ciscoasa5550", [ "toronto-pix_nyc", "811dc_mpls" ] ), ( "chicago_mpls", [ "chicago-net" ], ALL_HOSTS ), ( "485lex_mpls"...

Re: Parent Child Configuration for Different Networks
Maybe you are correct about the grandparent-parent config. I'll try that set up to see if that resolves our issue. Thanks for the quick response.

Parent Child Configuration for Different Networks
Hello there, I'm not sure if this has been asked before but, I'm trying to set up a parent-child configuration for different subnets on our network. Each subnet contains various hosts that are behind a firewall, where obviously, the firewalls are set up as the parents. However, I'm not sure if my co...

Re: Windows Process Age
Yes, we have the check_mk agent installed on all of our Windows hosts and we use that to monitor different attributes of the particular host. This looks like it might be beneficial for what we're trying to do, so I'll look into it further. Thanks everyone for such a quick response. Also, has anyone ...

Re: Windows Process Age
I'm not sure if that's a viable option, as we already have Nagios set up with Check_mk, which is working for my organization, for the most part. We're just looking into investigating whether it was possible to either add a legacy check that can tell us if a certain process is running for a specified...

Windows Process Age
Hello, I'm not sure if this question has been asked before, but I was wondering if it was possible to use the check_procs plugin to check specific attributes for a Windows process. In our case, we are trying to determine if a certain Windows process is running for over a specific length of time. In ...
