Re: Setup SNMP Traps on NetBotz 450
Didn't have the smptt software loaded, installed that, and I get this in snmpttunknown.log. Wed Oct 8 15:46:10 2014: Unknown trap (.1.3.6.1.4.1.5528.100.10.2.0.10) received from 10.5.190.52 at: Value 0: 10.5.190.52 Value 1: 10.5.190.52 Value 2: 0:1:59:05.85 Value 3: .1.3.6.1.4.1.5528.100.10.2.0.10 V...

Setup SNMP Traps on NetBotz 450
Trying to get SNMP traps set up on a new NetBotz 450 we purchased. The active checks are working OK, (SNMP port 161) but the trap doesn't work. (Port 162). First of all is the port deal correct? Documentation online says it should be set with 161 for SNMP and 162 for the traps. (Changing the traps t...

Re: Alerts from host with ping disabled
Got it working. Using the check_dns for the host command and the alerts work.
Thanks

Re: Alerts from host with ping disabled
Result= "Critical Socket Timeout After 60 Seconds. Which makes sense because IIS is not running on that server. But that's not a total loss since check_http will work for our external web server, but doesn't do anything for us on the External DNS Server. Here's the check_dns command that does w...

Re: Alerts from host with ping disabled
Tried that already, it fails: COMMAND: /usr/local/nagios/libexec/check_ping -H xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx -w 3000.0,80% -c 5000.0,100% -p 1 OUTPUT: PING CRITICAL - Packet loss = 100%|rta=5000.000000ms;3000.000000;5000.000000;0.000000 pl=100%;80;100;0 Packet loss = 100% is the same error I get with ping. But go...

Re: Alerts from host with ping disabled
The check we are running on DNS is working. So are you saying that even though the ping check isn't working and it appears to Nagios that the host is down, I should still be getting alerts when the DNS service check fails?

Alerts from host with ping disabled
We have an external dns server that sits outside our internal network and has ping disabled. We're running a command that that checks DNS by sending out the ip of that server and looking for it to resolve to our domain name, hhsc.org which works, but we're not getting notifications when that service...

Re: Setting Up SNMP Traps
OK it looks like I got the SNMP trap set up on one of the UPS's. Capture.JPG But I'm not sure what it's doing. I guess in my mind, there should be something on the UPS that sends something to Nagios when the AC goes out, or it goes on batteries, that Nagios uses to generate email alerts. I'm guessin...

Setting Up SNMP Traps
I've been working on setting up monitoring of our Liebert server room UPS. I've been using a plugin that I downloaded from Nagios that monitors temp., battery time remaining, and time on battery, but what I really need is something to alert us when the AC power goes out, either a loss of AC or the b...

Re: No DHCP Offers Received
Thanks, the only problem is that only a couple of locations have Linux servers. I may just have to blow off DHCP checks, after all, if users are getting IP's it's working, if they're not, then it's not. Let me talk to the powers that be and we'll see what we're going to do. Go ahead and close this, ...
