Yeah i understand, i've added them all individually, one by one.
The good news is that this pretty much does what i wanted so i guess we can chalk this up as a success.
Thanks for your help and have a great weekend.

Re: disable Operations Screen alerts for some hosts
I didn't know that you could do that, let me try it and i'll post back the results edit: in Users>Manage Users, i can only see a tick box option to `Can see all hosts and services:`. Ok i found that by adding a user to the contacts of each host, they are then visible to the user. However, I have not...

disable Operations Screen alerts for some hosts
Hi there, I am looking for a way to be able to control which hosts (or host groups) present their alerts tot he Operations Screen. For example, by default, every critical alert pop's up on the Operations Screen. When i am testing a check or adding a new device, if my initial configuration is not per...

All Host Graphs stopped several weeks ago.
Hi, I left my Nagios XI unattended while i was on leave, came back and it had several issues. The disk was full and somebody had done a dirty reboot on it. I increased to disk size and repaired the database and it was up and running again. I have just noticed that my host graphs have stopped updatin...

Re: wmiplus checkuptime warning thresholds
Thanks for that, I misread the documentation and thought it was needed, when i removed it the first time the check failed but now it's ok. I am applying this check to a few hostgroups but to get a report i t looks as though i have to create a service group as you suggest. The trouble is that the che...

wmiplus checkuptime warning thresholds
Hello lovely nagios people, I have been asked to monitor the uptime of a large number of windows servers. When they reach 180 days of uptime they will be manually rebooted by a human. What i'm thinking is, a check_xi_service_wmiplus command with a warning at 179 days and a critical alert at 180 days...

Re: extremely high load average
Hi thanks for the suggestions, I was able to add 4 more cores and an extra 12GB of RAM to the VM today, it made no difference whatsoever though. I'm currently on 8 2.8GHz xeon's and 16GB ram. Load average just peaked at 75. So then i looked at the checks in more detail and yes your right, i dont rea...

Re: extremely high load average
i use the default 5 min check, retry after 1 minute. I sat and watch top and iotop side by side for a while, every 5 minutes, top becomes filled with check_wmi_plus processes and the load average shoots up to anywhere between 25 and 48. IOTOP looked fairly quiet, only writing at about 250 K/s and re...
