Re: Compiling nagios-plugins-master on Solaris 9

Sorry for the delay, I tried Eric's post and no luck. I have a solaris guy working on it, but he's getting frustrated and says it won't compile. Any other idea's I can try? I'm realling liking this product, unfortunately will all the legacy I have surrounding me, it may just not be a good fit. Too b...

Hello,

I'm just following the README that comes with the nagios plugins file.

Did you want a link to that download?

Thanks!

Re: Monitoring Older Servers

Hello,

Do you know if there are already any existing Solaris binaries out there that may save me some work?

Thanks!

Compiling nagios-plugins-master on Solaris 9

Hello, I am trying to compile the nagios-plugins-master under Solaris 9 but running into errors. I have downloaded m4, autoconf, gettext and automake and compiled them without errors. When I attempt to compile I receive this: ./tools/setup Found GNU Make at /home1/cho6955/bin/make ... good. aclocal:...

Re: Running plug-in remotely

The only problem I have is that my host system doesn't have the executable required by check_hpasm locally to run. The local server is virtual so I do not have the HP executables on that server. I could copy them over, but in the end, I may be running Nagio's on something other than an HP server, so...

Monitoring Older Servers

Hello, we have several (100+) old servers in our environment: > HP-UX 10.01, 11.11, 11.0, 11.23 > Solaris Sparc 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 > Solarix x86 9, 10 > VaxVMS Would Nagio's be a good fit to monitor these old servers? Where would you being to look for such things as monitoring hardware failures or perfo...

Re: Running plug-in remotely

Thanks so much for the quick replies! Yes, lots of confusion, I guess it is hard when you are new to realize what has gone from a downloaded plug-in,to a built in plug-in! I will re-read tmcdonald's previous post. I would like to just execute the command 'check_hpasm' and have it run on the remote l...

Re: Running plug-in remotely

Sorry about that, I just thought those wizards were a standard thing when adding a server.

It was the Linux Server wizard which told me to install the agent 'linux-nrpe-agent'

Thanks!
