Distributed Monitoring / ACKNOWLEDGE idea?
Hi, I work with a distributed monitoring system where remote locations operate first line management of monitored services, and the central system provides the overview of all locations. My Idea would be to link the acknowledgement action on the distributed nagios implementation (if the service is s...

Re: Nagios Last Check Result not updating
Hi, I have tried this, it appears to have no impact. The interface appears to update under some circumstances, such as if I add a new service, it will progress from pending, to error/ok, but does not appear to then change when the error is resolved. I think this could be an issue with some permissio...

Re: Nagios Last Check Result not updating
Checks on the remote machine are Active.
The central host receives and processes Passive results (which can be seen being received in the logs)

Re: Nagios Last Check Result not updating
Hi,
The central host is : Nagios Core 3.2.3
The Remote host is: Nagios Core 3.2.3
We do not use DNX, just the use of NSCA to report to the central host.
Regards,
Mitchell

Nagios Last Check Result not updating
Hi, I am seeing an issue where my nagios interface is not updated. I am operating a distributed configuration, where a remote installation, submits results to a central server, but also has the interface enabled for the local operators to view. I can see in the central host that check results are be...

Clearing archived logs?
Hi
Overtime the archived logs have increased to fill large amounts of disk space.
Is there any method to remove logs older than a set time / if I remove logs from the archive is there any negative impact to the nagios functionality?
thanks
Mitchell

Re: NSCA ocsp command not executing
Resolved: It appears that although the nagios.cfg file had been updated, for some reason the Obsess_over_service parameter was not being read by nagios. Process Info was showing obsess over service as disabled... once I clicked enable in the GUI it appeared to correct the issue. Not sure if this is ...

Re: NSCA ocsp command not executing
I have checked all my configurations. And even created a test service that implements no templates. The Obsess over service command is never fired (I have wrapped this with a perl script that I use to debug checks which logs no activity for this command) I also tried switching the ocsp command to us...

Re: NSCA ocsp command not executing
Can you give me a detailed defintion of the:
on off skip and null definitions used in nagios.
Am I correct in assuming that once template 1 sets the value Template 2 cannot overwrite it?
