Re: Web transaction monitoring - possible choices
Thanks to everyone for references and ideas. WebInject ssems a good choice for the time being. Rolling your own check isn't that bad either. curl will do the trick, tracking cookies and responses codes and all that stuff. That's easy when there's a simple form simple verification. When there are hun...

Web transaction monitoring - possible choices
I looked for Nagios Core plugins that would allow what is called Web transaction monitoring in NagiosXI, but found few useful pieces of advice. There are several plugins listed, but seems to match. Could someone recommend, if possible, any plugin(s) for Nagios Core that could allow subsequently visi...

Re: Group operations over host group
@tmcdonald Thanks for directions. Yes, I know of 60 days trial period, this is why I ask. I also wish to understand how quickly I can learn using its API, for better automation.

Group operations over host group
I am evaluating Nagios XI. The question: is there simple means to perform operations over all hosts from host group? Such as: changing hosts/services status/mass editing parameters for services. I found no means to do that from Web interface. Are there any existing tools that could help me in that? ...

Re: Nagios Core on VMs
Not completely (the mentioned differences still might be stumbled upon), but in general, yes.tmcdonald wrote:Did that answer your question, sylvesterc?
If I detect any incompatibilities, I'll post that information on the forum.
Thanks to everyone responded.

Re: Nagios Core on VMs
Come to Nagios World Conference 2014 in St. Paul and sit in on my talk on using Nagios Core on AWS boxes. But seriously, you can get away with a very small instance - Nagios doesn't take that much - but it will all depend on what you're monitoring. And if you're cloud-basing your server, then you m...

Re: Nagios Core on VMs
@tmcdonald Indeed, more information about administrative part would be great to know. In general, guest OS should behave similarly under different hypervisors, but this is imperfect world and there might be differences.

Nagios Core on VMs
I have searched forums and other available sources about Nagios Core on virtualized environment. There are many posts, but looks like I missed general pieces of advice, if they were posted. Are there any concise recommendations on using Nagios on specific hypervisors/virtualization technologies for ...

Re: Monitoring devices I can't connect to directly
Looks like a trend - what seemed most convenient goes unsupported. Thank for the recommendation, I'll study it shortly.slansing wrote:If going that route I'd highly recommend using Mod_gearman instead of DNX as DNX has been unsupported and undeveloped for years at this point.
