Re: Where is everyone????
No worries - people are around. The holidays, combined with end-of-year business tasks usually keep everyone busy.

Re: Update Nagios XI
Here are a list of changes in RC2 and RC3. We'll get these posted elsewhere as well to make it easier for people to see what's changed: === 2009RC3 - 11/25/2009 ==================== - License key is now trimmed of whitespace before being saved - Network outages menu link only shown to admins and use...

Re: Server is running, can't find clients?
Sounds like there might be some routing issues on the vmware image. If you login to the virtual machine are you able to ping the servers/printers/etc. you're trying to monitor? You can run the Centos network config tool to change your gateway settings, etc. by logging in as root and running the foll...

Re: Question on Nagios XI
Hi Chan - Nagios support multiple user logins with different views. By default, users in XI who are administrators get to see everything. Normal users are only able to see hosts/services they are contacts for, unless you grant them the "User can see all hosts and services" option when you ...

Re: Multiple questions ?
Cacti is installed as a standalone tool for those that want it. UI integration hasn't been done because most people we've worked with are satisfied with PNP graphing capabilities tied with SNMP monitoring. Whether it stays or goes remains to be seen. PNP is only used 1) as a low-level bridge between...

Re: Support for multiple cores?
We don't have plans to incorporate support for multiple Nagios Core instances on the same XI system. The main reason for this is the technical challenges associated with it. Its possible to do this with Nagios Core and NDOUtils support this setup. We actually did this with another project. However, ...

New XI Update Coming Next Week (Nov. 16th)
We'll be releasing a new snapshot of the latest XI code next week (Monday). There will be two methods of getting the update: 1. An updated vm will be released for people that haven't downloaded the current vm or are just joining the testing program 2. A patch will be released for existing testers to...

Re: XI licence
Some very good reasons: 1. We created some of the code for other client projects and license some of the tech that's in XI 2. We love focusing on building a really kick-butt software product 3. If we want to continue to build and support our products (both commercial and OSS), we have to pay for our...

Re: feature Suggestion
I think that's a fantastic idea! Out of the box we'll support email and mobile text (email to text) notifications, but we'll start developing notification extensions in the near future. For example, twitter and GSM modem integrations will likely be the first ones to be available. Our main goal with ...
