I can confirm that setting sql_mode=NO_ENGINE_SUBSTITUTION in /etc/my.cnf has resolved this issue. Would be nice if this was documented somewhere or better fixed, in case other admins run into similar issues.
Thanks again lmiltchev!

Re: mysql server version compatibility with Nagios XI
Thanks a lot for getting back lmiltchev! We will test this on our dev platform and I will let you know, if it resolves the issue.
Any more detailed information from the developers why the wizard fails in this case, but adding a host/service manually via CCM works?

Re: mysql server version compatibility with Nagios XI
Sorry for digging out this old thread, but from what it looks like Nagios XI has compatibility issues when using MySQL 5.6.x. We are currently evaluating Nagios XI and we are testing offloaded Databases running 5.6.25 - and the result is always the same. The wizard for creating monitors does not fun...

Replication question for MySQL
Hi Nagios Team,
We are in our process of rolling out Nagios XI and we would like to use MySQL database replication on a managed host.
Does Nagios XI support MySQLreplication using GTID (Global Transaction IDs)?
Thanks and Best Regards
David

Running Nagios using different user accounts
Hey Support team, We are currently evaluating Nagios within our company, but encounter certain issues with the way Nagios XI is designed. Within our company, we rely on configuration management systems for all sorts of things such as user management etc. The problem we are facing is, that we cannot ...

Re: Apply configuration for a single host
Thanks for your feedback! We are running the latest version of XI 2.7. Ok, so only changed configurations are processed - but the Nagios service is still restarted when hitting "Apply Configuration" or not? I mean it is unlikely that 200 customers change their configs/monitors at the same ...

Re: Apply configuration for a single host
Sorry for digging out this old thread, but I need some clarification. "Apply Configuration" seems to re-initialize all hosts / configuration files and restarts Nagios, if successful. Does this have a potential impact on the monitors (active & passive) when the are sending data in the m...
